Details of the 25 year old's boozy antics, which meant he had to be restrained by an off duty police officer, emerged when he pled guilty at Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday. Hazel Emmerson, prosecuting, told how the drama unfolded on the 7am Jet2 flight, which "was fully laden with passengers", on Saturday, July 7 last year. McKeown, of Cumbernauld, near Glasgow, was drunk and disruptive before the plane even took off and interfered with the safety demonstration. He then directed his aggression towards a female air hostess, who can't be named for legal reasons. Miss Emmerson said: "He proceeded to shout a verbal tirade of abuse, such as, 'f off, square go, I'll do you in' and 'I'm gonna bounce all over your head; get your ts out, show us your me'." The captain was made aware of what was happening and made an in flight announcement reminding passengers of how they were expected to behave. An off duty female police officer then waded in to try to help. McKeown shouted and swore at the cabin crew and repeatedly struck windows and overhead cabins before the officer managed to restrain him. After the plane was diverted to Toulouse, he was removed from the flight by French police officers. The accused was kept in a cell for eight hours before being thrown onto the streets.
